Working Out At Home Is Easy

If you have done the gym memberships, the boot-camps, the “fill in workout here” and are finding that you just don't have the time or the money then maybe an at home workout is just what the doctor ordered.

To be honest I did love going to the gym, to Crossfit, playing basketball etc… but when we had kids it got harder and harder. The time spent commuting there was better spent being with my family. That is not to say I will never go back to the gym or other outside activities, but for now home workouts are what works best for me.

Maybe you are intimidated by the gym or other boot-camp type classes. That is OK. Doing your workout at home gives you the freedom to go at your own pace, wear what you want, and not worry about what you think you look like doing some specific workout move.

If you think working out at home might be more up your alley then I am going to list a bunch of workouts I have done at home so  you can see exactly what you need and read my full reviews on them as well.

Cardio & Weight Training In Your House?

  • The truth is you do not need a lot of equipment to get a great workout at home! Many exercise programs I review here only need about a 10 foot x 10 foot area and nothing else but your body.
  • Some will need weights, but you can buy a pair of adjustable dumbbells and train hard enough to make Arnold blush. 😉

Are These Workouts Only For Women?

  • What!!?? lol just kidding…
  • You are on a site that was created by a dad and does all his working out at home so in reality working out at home is for anyone men or women. Even my kids join in!
  • The truth is working out in your own house can be as simple as popping in a DVD or turning your garage into a gym like I did, but I used to just do most of these workouts right in the basement.

In the end it doesn't really matter where you are working out as long as you are working out and changing your life for the better!

I have a question for you, first though I want you to know that I weigh any where between 105 to 110. I have your Hip Hop ABs and Richard has your Insanity. My question is how do I go about tightening up my stomach macules with out losing any more weight??? I wish there was a way I could send you a picture so you can see what NEEDS to be worked on with out having to post it on Face Book. I hope there is a way you can help, thank you and have a great day.

    • Chris says:

Hey there Donna. Well if you want to tighten up your abs you are going to have to focus more on them more times a week. Maybe start up a strict ab workout 3x a week.

Not sure if you have every done Ab Ripper X from P90X, but that is a great ab workout!!

You can even just go on youtube and look up different ab workouts for free.

and one more question doing focus t 25 twice a day is it useful.

Great work! How is your diet? Are you keeping track of what you eat?

Sure you can do it twice a day if you can handle it… just don’t burn yourself out.

Really to lose fat in hips and stomach is all diet…. You have to make sure you are in a calorie deficit.

I need help in determining which program to buy. I’m 50 yrs., 5’3” and 145 lbs. I’m looking to lose 30 lbs. AND to gain LEAN muscle and strength. I want to tone up. My understanding is that building lean muscle will help with weight loss. I might be wrong, but that’s why I need your guidance. I was looking at BB. Is this a good program for my goals? I get the build phase, but not sure if the bulk and beast phase is ok for me. Enlighten me, please.

  • simon says:

Hi do you have the exact plan you did including diet plan ? That was an amazing transformation in 8 wèeks !
    Thanks

    • Chris says:

Simon thanks. Honestly I just try to eat real foods and stay very discipline mon-friday and let loose a bit on the weekend.

The biggest thing is tracking your food intake with a tool like spark people or my fitness pal.

If you can get an idea on how much you are eating it goes a long way.

Question. Just saw the body beast infomercial. Started to research and it seems its not for a 48 year old 230 lb guy who hasn’t worked out in 10 years. Working in oil and gas I live in a box in the middle of no where a lot for weeks on end so what ever I do has to be portable and has to have a way to eat right when you can’t get fresh food as much as one would like. It also needs to be in the for dummies range since its been for ever. I would really appreciate your advice sir.

Hey Chris I’m 14, 5’7″ and weigh 225. I hate looking in the mirror every morning and seeing what I am so I need to change that. I can’t drive or go to a gym and I don’t have enough money to buy these workouts, and my schedule is inconsistent because my parents work don’t have set times some days I’m home all day the other I get home at 10:00pn I am starting high school on sept. 1 and I don’t want to go looking like a hippo. Please help me get my life together

    • FitDadChris says:

Hey Daniel don’t be so hard on yourself bro!

I would bet one of your biggest things is your diet. Do this… start writing a food journal for a week, I mean write down everything you eat and how much if you can even what you drink. Do this for a week and then use the contact form https://fitdadchris.com/contact-me/ to get in touch with me and I can go over it for you.

As far as working out, I am not sure how active you are, but get outside and move around. Ride the bike, start running, play some sports. Just be active. Heck you can even start something where you try do to a certain amount of exercises for the day. So say you do a body weight circuit like this… Push Ups , Sit Ups, Air Squats, Leg Raises, Push Ups, Lunges

I mean do like 10 each and try do that that 2 or 3 times a day. More if you can. Just get yourself moving.

      Let me know!

I have really been struggling to build body from several months but haven’t seen any changes till now. My basic problem is that my lower half of the body is bulky and the upper body is lean comparatively. If you could suggest some exercises to bring my body to perfect symmetry, it would be of very much help. Have a great day ahead !.

    • FitDadChris says:

I guess the biggest thing would be to really look at how you are working out now? I would need to see a routine. In short you want to focus more on where you are lacking. Most people will work the body parts that they get the best results on and that can lead to under development of other areas.

Use the contact page and shoot me over what you are doing or feel free to leave it here.
