How To Reduce Belly Fat – Men Over 40

Belly fat is a huge liability when you get over the age of 40, especially for men, it can result in numerous illnesses and body problems. Luckily though, there are some steps that you can take to cure your belly fat, which we have listed below!

Reduce the number of calories you consume

This might sound obvious, but if you want to train your body to burn fat instead of carbs/sugar, you will need to consume fewer calories – you shouldn’t cut back too much, if you do it’s easy to quit and resume bad habits, to lose 1/2 pound a week, you will need to reduce your total calorie intake by 250-500 calories per day, you should track your calories and see how you can adjust your eating plan to ensure that you lose some weight, this will result in losing belly fat. Most men can safely lose weight by limiting the number of calories they consume to 1500-1800 per day.

Focus on what you eat

  • To lose belly fat you should focus on eating healthy carbohydrates like whole grains, vegetables, and lean protein sources like red meat and seafood. You should also eat 3 meals per day, with each meal being the same size. Eating consistently will help suppress hunger and cravings, which will result in increased belly fat.

Eat a healthy breakfast

  • An effective weight loss plan should always include a breakfast that fills you up. If you eat a lot at breakfast it will greatly help stop cravings and snacks during the day. A great breakfast to have is something like oatmeal, which is filling, high in calories, and healthy!

Have a lunch that provides energy

  • A great strategy to ensure that you don’t feel like snacking is to fill your meal with vegetables, this will make sure that there’s no room for anything unhealthy! Eating vegetables not only help reduce your waist size, but also decreases the risk of having heart problems, cancer, and diabetes. You should include at least 4 ounces of grilled chicken, 2 cups of vegetables, and some olive oil or potatoes – this is a filling meal that will provide you energy for the rest of the day.

Have a filling dinner

At dinner you can focus on eating something that fills you up for the evening, this will help prevent cravings and snacks. To reduce belly fat, good proteins are low-saturated fat proteins, like tuna or salmon. Healthy fats decrease the chance of heart issues, which is much more common in men over 40.
