My Ongoing Review Of This Workout

Month 1 Max Thirty

  • cardio-challenge-max-30

    Day 1 In The Books!

Day 1 – Cardio Challenge – “Originally Done 12/8/2014” – Well I made it to 9 minutes before I “MAXED” out, but I think I may have dogged it a bit earlier as well LOL! Over the last month I have been pretty lazy so this beat me up a bit more then I would have liked, but hey I gotta get back into it somehow right! I really enjoy the whole maxxing out concept. In the back of your mind you do not want to quite because you want to see how long you can go! In the past I may have just stopped for 10 or 20 seconds then hopped back in, but knowing I had to write my timed out # in the box made me push harder.

    • Lots of new moves… similar to old insanity moves, but with a twist and a good twist at that. Same basic circuits with doing moves for 30 seconds in a series then 30 second break.
    • The thirty minutes goes fast and I was dripping with sweat at the end of it. Like I said I have been pretty lazy so I was feeling it afterward. At the 12 minute mark my 2 1/2 year old would not get out of bed for my wife so I had to run upstairs “working out in my basement for winter 😉” get him out, get him cup of milk, then bring him with me…. so yea I got another few minute break.
    • It was actually fun doing the workout in front of him… he cheered me on and did some moves at the end lol.

  • Well I wanted to do a day by day post like I usually do with my home workout reviews, but it has just been so crazy around here! It is a good thing this workout is only thirty minutes! So as of now 12/16/2014 I am in my second week and I am really enjoying this workout. You get in, you get your butt whooped, and you get out! Easy peasy!
  • What do you really need to know?
    • Is it going to get you results in 30 minutes a day? YES! Follow the workouts, follow the nutrition guide or at least cut out all the garbage you normally would eat.Not just for 60 days, but forever or at least the majority of the time.
    • Is their any special equipment needed? NO just your body and sneakers, but I guess you could go barefoot. I would not!
    • How is the Ab workout? It is awesome! Get on your back, go to plank, get on your back!! lol I never thought I could hate the plank position any more, but WOW what a core workout you get!
    • Can you take breaks or modify? OF COURSE you can take breaks! Nobody is ever stopping you from taking them and YES Shaun gives you some nice well needed 3o second breaks. There is also a modifier you can follow along with and trust me you probably will. I know I have

All in all like any other workout Beachbody or Shaun T puts out, they will get your results if you do just ONE simple thing:USE & FOLLOW THEM! Simple as that… use the next 60 days as a jump start on your journey to a life with fitness or a way to get back into it. Like I always say it is not just about the next 30, 60, or 90 days, but about what you do after to keep up your progress.

Quick Overview If You Do Not Know What Max 30 Is

  • 60 Day Workout
  • 30 Minutes A Day
  • 150 New Moves
  • No Equipment Needed!
  • It's not about getting through all 30 minutes, but pushing your hardest till you “MAX out
  • Modified Moves For All Exercises

If you have ever done Insanity or T25 then you know Shaun T knows how to create a workout program! I have been doing his workouts since 2009 and they have been life changing!

There is nothing magic about these workouts and there are no secrets. In the end it will be cleaning up your diet, following the workouts and putting in the time. The great thing is that the time for the workout is only 30 minutes. He created this workout to “MAX” out your efforts in the shortest time possible. No more hour long cardio sessions on the treadmill or the elliptical.

The truth is, by the time you start to think about what is going on you are going to be sweating bullets and the workout will be over!

I would like to be on the waiting list for Insanity Max:30. Also, I was wondering if you had an idea yet of what the cost of the new workout package would be yet?

    Thank you!
    Amanda

    • Chris says:

Consider yourself added! I would imagine it will be about the same as T25 or Insanity which is about $129 for the full workout. They always have great challenge pack deals and I always try to offer a discount as well when it launches so hang in there! I am pretty excited for this one.

  • Luisa Crispino says:

I want to be on waiting list please. Can’t wait for this one!

Can’t wait for Shaun T to enter my home gym again and kick my butt.
The containers are the ones from the 21 day fix. Very easy to measure your food, but you need to make plans and lists and stay with the recipes….

  • Rich S says:

I’m glad to see that Shawn T. is adding the Insanity sequel. I loved Insanity and both Asylums. I just hope that this one won’t be as choreographed as T25. It just wasn’t what I was looking for. I’m stoked for this new program. I would like to be put on the list if that is possible.

    • Chris says:

      Sure Rich all aboard!

Yeah I feel you on that! Insanity was pretty RAW! T25 is a great program, but yeah more production efforts in it, but hey I guess they went off feedback from Insanity users.

  • jennifer says:

I want to be on the waiting list please!!

  • sarah says:

Can I be added to waiting list please, do we no any more about UK release date?

    Thanks
    Sarah

  • Andrea says:

I need this in India 🙁

  • Lesley Logan says:

Can you add me to the waiting list please I live in Scotland and it’s for my son’s Christmas…He loves Insanity and really wants Max 30!

  • FARNOOSH says:

I AM FROM IRAN I CANT BUY THIS 🙁 PLEAS HELP MEEEEEEE

  • kristen says:

Hi, I just purchased Max 30, when should I expect it? (I live in Toronto, ON)

  • Geo says:

US here. Coworker and myself just purchased it for our lunch workouts. We really enjoyed Insanity but it was getting a little repeatative. We just finished the first week. The exercises take more coordination. I really like the max out logging. It gives me a defined goal. It has put a little more stain on my back though.

    • Chris says:

Great to hear! Yeah the max out is awesome! Change is good… If you are having some back pain be sure to stretch more…. cool down etc…..

Most of these shorter workouts will take out the full stretch routine, so make your own and get those muscles recovering

  • jason hill says:

Hi ive been doing insanity for around 6 months now and am happy with results, because thid new max 30 is about half the time of the old insanity,is it as effective in fatburning muscle building thanks

    • Chris says:

Hey Jason. Great work with insanity. I would not say it is half the time…. well i guess compared to the second half of Insanity.

I would say it all depends how you push yourself.

Sure more time usually = more calories burned, but it will also depend on your intensity.

Either workout will get you results, and if you feel you want a bit more you can do the insanity warmup before starting the max 30 workout

  • Paul Kready says:

I am in my 3rd week of Max 30 and I am loving it. The Tabata workouts are awesome…raw power!! Did T25 for a couple cycles but it became kinda easy and repetitive…Max 30, however, is not easy, but it is so damn addictive!!!

    • Chris says:

      Ha yea I hear Paul!
There is just something about that MAX # and not wanting to give in lol

Or taking that 3 second break and being like hmmm was that my max #.. nah!! keep going hahah

      Good stuff man!

  • Ryan says:

Hey Chris! I love your reviews, i’ve been on your website for awhile and have been hooked ever since, i just wanted to ask if you think insanity max:30 is good for someone who has just finished bodybeast and has gained a good amount of muscle with it to do this program, but the only thing is that i’m afraid that if i do this program i’ll lose all that hard earned muscle, my goal is to shred of those last pounds and reveal my 6pack abs. Is this program right for me?
    Thank you so much
    Yours sincerely,
    Ryan

  • Ryan says:

Hey Chris, i have just finished bodybeast and was wondering if this program is for me because i really want to give it a go and shred those last pounds to reveal my 6pack, but there is only one problem, i really don’t want to lose any of the muscle i’ve gained with bodybeast because it was hard for me. What do you think?
    Thank you!
    Best,
    Ryan

    • Chris says:

Yo ryan nice work! I would do a hybrid if I were you.. go for 3 days with BB and the 2 or 3 with max 30. Keep track of your caloric intake. That is the key. Make sure you are eating before and after workouts so your body has what it needs and you should be fine!

  • Zach Wise says:

How old should I be to start this workout, is there any age limits? I’m currently almost 14 and looking for a workout to do, and this one looks really good, please get back to me when you get a chance 🙂

    • Chris says:

Hey Zach as a 14 year old I would always tell you to ask your parents and probably your doctor. I also think it might depend on how active you are now. I do think it is a good workout right about your age or 15. Since there are no weights involved you are not going to tweak any joint growth issues since you are still growing. I think back to the sport practices I had at 14 and I probably would have done better if I had some max 30 under my belt, but again ask the parents 😉

  • sudipto says:

hey chris ……i have grown little fat….my question is when i max out how much time should i take rest? is it ok to drink water once we max out?……

    • FitDadChris says:

I would say 30-60 seconds, if you need more take it, but no more than 2 minutes, and as you get better take less and push! Its gonna hurt but you gotta push!

  • Indian ping pong says:

Can we eat or drink protein 10 mins before workout… What is appropriate time to eat before workout

    • FitDadChris says:

Hey there! Yeah really depends how you feel. I would say 20-30 min before if you can. If you drink a big protein shake it may slosh around in your stomach as you start jumping and moving around. again all depends how your body handles food. I always wake up in the morning and have a protein shake about 20 min before I start working out. It is only about 8 ounces… i do half a scoop of powder and some milk/water. Just enough to get me going.

  • Ria says:

    Hi
Are these workouts classed as hiit workouts? I have the DVDs at home and love them but everyone says hiit is the best way to burn fat?

    • FitDadChris says:

Yeah pretty much…. You are not doing as many intervals as in the insanity workout, but you are going as hard as you can which in my opinion is doing just about the same.

  • Gajndra says:

I have one ques. I read somewhere that lets say first day you max out at 3min…next time you need to go beyond 3min. So what is this next time? Is it next day workout or next time you do same workout?
e.g day 1 is cardio workout you maxed at 3min next day is say tabata power do you need to go beyond 3 min for tabata or for next cardio day?

    • FitDadChris says:

Yeah each workout you push for your max and write it down. Next day you go for more and so on and so on until you can bust it out non stop!! Which is tough, but a goal to go after for sure!

    • John Francis says:

You max out on, let’s say, Cardio Challenge at 3:07..
You need to go beyond that time the next time you do Cardio Challenge, so there’s no problem if you max out at 2:56 on Tabata Power next day.. Every max out time is a mark for the workout you’re doing and your goal is to go for a better mark the next time you do the same workout.. Greetings !

  • rael says:

Hi I am in the 2nd month insanity(old one).do you suggest i get done with the 2nd month then start start max 30??kindly help .

    • FitDadChris says:

Hey there, that is all up to you! If you like Insanity then do another round, if you want to switch it up then go for it. A lot of people do numerous rounds of insanity. One thing I would say is after you finish the 60 days I would take a week of rest and recovery. Nothing too crazy. Maybe a few days of the insanity recovery week workout and keep eating clean.

You get pretty banged up that first round of insanity so get some solid rest. You will be amazed at how you feel 😉
